PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wonder Watson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and S S (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). S has chosen Atmos Ride the Flow(Nelix rmx) as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. S S has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Wonder Watson's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Wonder Watson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, S S!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Richard Clark and Sam Margolis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
S scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!

S fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Watson sprawls well initially but S persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
S wants to free his trapped foot but Watson is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Watson is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of S's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take S's back!
Watson lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Watson is hanging on to S's back as he tries to escape.
Watson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Watson cracks S with a big shot to body and one to the head - really punishing S from the back mount here, looking to soften him up.
S covering up well under a series of strikes from Watson.
Watson tries to keep control of the position but S is staying busy.
S just trying to survive but Watson is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
S looks gassed!

Watson has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, S has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Watson controls the position.
S staying busy and making it hard for Watson to control.

Watson has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of S's body.
S is trying to break free.
Watson is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
S tries to escape but Watson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
S tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!
S avoids a series of strikes thrown by Watson.
S is looking to improve his position but Watson isn't that keen on the idea.
S is trying to reverse the position but instead Watson has taken his back - oops!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
S looking very determined here, making life difficult for Watson.
S turns into Watson and is now in his guard.

S drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and S jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
S wants to pass the guard but Watson is keeping the position.
S sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Watson's guard.

S is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Watson doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time S.
Watson is trying to stand up here but S is controlling him well.

S is keen to just control but Watson is a slippery customer.

S is looking for a kimura here.
S is tying to control. Watson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Watson is in trouble now - S has advanced to mount!

S looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
Watson tries to lock up and control but S gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Watson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because S is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
S moves to back control.
Watson is trying to break free.
Watson trying to control the action but S just sinks the hooks in.
Watson holding both S 's hands and preventing any damage.

S sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Watson taps out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). S S!
