Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Garlin Liddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dwayne Perry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Liddle comes into the arena with eye of the tiger blaring out of the sound system. Garlin Liddle has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Perry closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Perry throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Perry is trying to control the action in half guard but Liddle is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Liddle wants to get back to his feet.
Liddle trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Liddle is not content to let Perry control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Perry tries to pass the half guard into mount. Liddle knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Perry lands a nice short elbow.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Perry is keen to just control but Liddle is a slippery customer.
Liddle tries to kick Perry off but Perry keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Perry seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Liddle is looking to improve his position.
Perry is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Liddle wants to stand back up but Perry manages to pass into side control.
Perry wants to lay and pray for a moment but Liddle keeps working.

Perry tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Perry has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Perry in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Perry has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
