Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Belo Me (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Rypien (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Rypien told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Belo Me!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Rick Rypien!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rypien lands a head shot.
Rypien moves out of range of the body kick from Me.
Rypien jabs at Me's body.

Rypien closes the distance and pushes Me back into the cage.
Me is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Rypien is leaning against Me and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Rypien lands with a right to the head.
Me is trying to break free.
Rypien is looking to break free of the clinch but Me has double underhooks.

Me takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Rypien with a nice cross.
Me fails with an attempt to clinch.
Me shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Rypien as he jumps to the side.
Rypien scores with a hook.
Me tries to clinch there but Rypien circles away.
Rypien misses the shot to the body.
Me doesn't manage to clinch there - Rypien circles away.
Rypien is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Me rather than just go for the knockout.
Me closes the distance looking to clinch

and Rypien counters with a single leg into guard. Me didn't expect that.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Rypien takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Rypien fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Me manages to avoid it.

Belo Me is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Rick Rypien seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
