PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Alpa Chino (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jie Liu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chino comes into the arena with Bonfire blaring out of the sound system. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Liu turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Chino tries for a takedown but Liu circles away easily
and Liu counters with a two punch combo.
Liu slips a straight right by Chino.
Liu misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Chino counters with a shoot takedown. Liu fights it but they end up in guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Liu is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Chino has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Chino stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Liu swivels though and keeps the full guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Jie Liu hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Chino tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Chino fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Liu works the jab nicely.
Chino uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Liu.
Nice takedown defense from Liu. No joy for Chino on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alpa Chino. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Chino needs to keep his hands up - Liu had a free shot at his head there.
Liu pushes Chino away with a front kick.
Chino doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Liu counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Chino gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Liu gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!
