Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Marcus Crassus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ernie Els (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Crassus might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Rome. Els comes into a darkened arena with his song building. French Montana - Shot Caller kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Crassus misses.

Els throws a body punch but Crassus moves out of range.
Els throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Els avoids the body shot from Crassus.
Crassus throws a leg kick that misses.
Els throws a hook to the side of Crassus's head but Crassus sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Els looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Crassus has Els up against the cage in a clinch.
Els tries to throw a body punch but Crassus avoids it by throwing Els back against the cage.
Crassus lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Els creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Els can't find room to land a body shot as Crassus controls the action.

Crassus lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Els or not.
Crassus digs a right hand into Els's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Els's gas tank.

Crassus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Els.

so Crassus counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Crassus slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Crassus pivots, looking for a leg kick but Els is out of range and Crassus settles back down.

Els throws a hook but Crassus blocks it.
Ernie Els is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Els misses the jab.
Els's jab looks to have found its range, popping Crassus under the eye.
Crassus lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Crassus feints a jab promting Els to slip. Crassus then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Els slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.

Crassus closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Els is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Crassus is controlling him well.
Els is not content to let Crassus control the position.

Els regains half guard there - taking advantage of Crassus's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Crassus is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Crassus slows the pace down in half guard.
Els wants to improve his position but Crassus is controlling well.

Crassus looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Els might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
