Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Paolo Nazaire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Labont (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Nazaire kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Spaceape (Burial). The crowd seem to be enjoying Labont's choice of entrance music: Bad Religion's Walk Away. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nazaire throws a nice head kick!

It looks like Pierre Labont has been cut.
Nazaire looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Nazaire throws a right hand that Labont ducks under and follows up with a left that Labont also avoids with ease.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Labont has eaten all the pies!
Nazaire misses with a double jab.
Nazaire stuffs the takedown attempt from Labont. Labont gets slowly back to his feet.
Nazaire looks to land a combination but Labont avoids it well.
Labont blocks a leg kick.
Nazaire circles away from the clinch attempt.

so Labont counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Labont won't allow Nazaire to sweep him here.

Nazaire is looking for a triangle but Labont pushes his legs off easily.
Labont tries to free his leg and advance position but Nazaire is retaining full guard.
Nazaire controls Labont momentarily but Labont frees himself.
Labont pushes down on Nazaire's leg and manages to get into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nazaire is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Nazaire is working hard here to advance position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
A nice inside leg kick there by Nazaire. That's going to slow Labont down.
Paolo Nazaire seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Labont closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nazaire to the mat! Nazaire manages to get full guard.

Nazaire looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Nazaire lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Labont!
Nazaire is breathing heavily.
Labont regains half guard.

Nazaire is working for a submission of some sort.

Nazaire is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Labont looking for a guillotine here but Nazaire defends easily.

Labont looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nazaire is pushing down on Labont's leg trying to pass to half guard. Labont is fighting to maintain full guard but Nazaire has managed to sneak the leg through.

Nazaire looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Nazaire tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Labont.
Nazaire will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Nazaire is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Labont is just riding it out for now. Nazaire eventually gives up the hold.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Nazaire postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Labont to stand up.
Nazaire thows a body shot but no joy.
Nazaire fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Labont.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Labont.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Labont takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Nazaire misses with a two punch combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Pierre Labont will probably get the nod.

Nazaire will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Labont closes this distance looking for a takedown but Nazaire circles away.
Labont stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Nazaire.
Nazaire throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Nazaire misses with a combination

and Labont counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Labont is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nazaire controls Labont momentarily but Labont frees himself.

Nazaire escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Labont gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Labont is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Nazaire manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Labont manages to get himself to full guard.

Labont has left one of his arms exposed and Nazaire doesn't need a second invitation. He's isolated it and locked on a tight armbar. Labont screams and taps out, obviously in a lot of pain. Hopefully there isn't permanent damage to that arm.
