Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Zevia Troopa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Zevia Troopa had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davis shoots for a double leg takedown but Troopa sprawls well. He's pushed Davis's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Troopa closes the distance and clinches.

Davis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Troopa tries to bum rush Davis with a series of wild strikes but Davis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Troopa stuffs the takedown attempt from Davis. Davis gets slowly back to his feet.
Troopa throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Davis shoots in but Troopa avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Zevia Troopa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Phil Davis.

Davis looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Davis fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Troopa avoids it really well and circles away.
Nice body kick from Troopa.
Horrible takedown by Davis or perhaps it was just good defense by Troopa which made him look bad.
No luck for Davis with that takedown attempt.

Troopa rushes Davis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Davis ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Davis no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Davis wants to sweep here but Troopa controlling him for the moment.

Davis wants to lay and pray for a moment but Troopa keeps working.

Davis is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Troopa is just riding it out for now. Davis eventually gives up the hold.

Davis has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Troopa defend it? Davis steps over the head and cranks it - Troopa is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Davis!
