Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Mark Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivben Jakynov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mark Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ivben Jakynov!
The judges for this bout are Radbod Blank, Paulsen Ambrosius and Wagner Zegers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jakynov takes a swing at Adams's ribcage but misses.
Adams has a takedown stuffed.

Jakynov feints and as Adams raises his hands in defense, Jakynov changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Adams keeping moving, preventing Jakynov from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jakynov is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Adams wants to stand but Jakynov is controlling the position.
Adams is pulling down on Jakynov's head to control his posture.

Ivben Jakynov has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Adams moves into the clinch.

A big left from Jakynov misses.
Adams looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Adams slips a jab and a cross from Jakynov.
Jakynov moves in looking to clinch but Adams pushes him off.

Jakynov fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Adams to the ground. Jakynov is now in Adams's guard.
Adams knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jakynov on the ground.
Jakynov's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Adams is controlling Jakynov's posture.

Adams lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Jakynov!
Adams prevents Jakynov from getting the reversal.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Jakynov slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Jakynov wants to control but Adams is keeping busy.

Jakynov moves into full guard.
Adams controlling from the top position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jakynov is on top in guard.

Jakynov is working Adams over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Jakynov stands and steps away. Adams gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Adams shoots for a takedown but Jakynov saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Adams. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jakynov shoots in for a takedown but Adams shows good takedown defense.

Adams gets tackled into the cage by Jakynov. Jakynov maintains the clinch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Adams gets underhooks to prevent Jakynov's takedown attempt.
Adams wants to break the clinch but can't.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Jakynov creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Jakynov tightens his grip and picks Adams up, before dumping him to the ground. Adams manages to land in guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Adams keeps the fight on the outside.
Jakynov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Adams paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Adams steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Jakynov.
Jakynov looks for a takedown but Adams sprawls well.
Ivben Jakynov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Adams keeps the fight on the outside.
Horrible takedown by Jakynov or perhaps it was just good defense by Adams which made him look bad.
Jakynov tries to clinch up but Adams circles away and keeps his distance.
Jakynov throws a front kick aimed at Adams's knee but Adams avoids it well.

Jakynov darts in and clinches Adams up against the cage.
Adams is trying to break the clinch but Jakynov has him pressed against the cage.
Jakynov is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Jakynov successfully pulls guard.
Adams is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Adams wants to stand but Jakynov has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jakynov manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Adams manages to get himself to full guard.
Ivben Jakynov has got the better of the ground game so far.
Jakynov postures up in Adams's guard and throws a big left but Adams blocks it.

Jakynov won't allow Adams to sweep him here.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

Jakynov stands up from Adams's guard - Jakynov perhaps looking for a knockout.

Adams throws a head kick but Jakynov moves out of range.
Jakynov misses with a hook.
Jakynov keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Jakynov tries to clinch but Adams moves out of range.

Jakynov shoots in and bounces Adams off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Jakynov wants to control from the top but Adams keeps moving.
Jakynov might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Adams kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ivben Jakynov was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Adams counters with a single leg into guard. Jakynov didn't expect that.

Adams avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jakynov wants to sweep but no luck.
Adams trying to control but Jakynov is working from the bottom.
Jakynov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Adams's guard.
Adams could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jakynov gets to his feet. Adams looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivben Jakynov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Nice takedown defense from Adams. No joy for Jakynov on that attempt.
Jakynov tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adams swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Adams will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Adams closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jakynov circles away.

Jakynov tries to keep at a distance but Adams has taken the fight into the clinch.
Adams tries to pull guard but Jakynov forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Jakynov throws a head punch that misses.
Jakynov drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Adams gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Adams wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Jakynov manages to pull guard.

Jakynov working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Adams doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Adams manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Jakynov is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Adams defends well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jakynov tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jakynov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Jakynov has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Adams seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Jakynov is on top in guard.

Adams has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Jakynov is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Adams.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Adams looks to move to half guard but instead Jakynov has passed into mount! Damn!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Adams really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Jakynov cracks Adams with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Adams is squirming around, avoiding Jakynov's attempts to control the action.

Jakynov is working close to his opponent, looking to work a submission by the looks of things. Oh, he's managed to get a guillotine from mount as his opponent reached up! That looks tiiiiight! Will he tap? YES, he's tapped! Impressive submission by Jakynov!
