Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Paulo Santos and Thiago Cunha.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Goto moves away.
Allen has a takedown stuffed.
Allen wants to clinch.
Goto throws a nice outside leg kick.
Goto connects with a crisp jab.
Allen misses with a wild body shot.
Allen shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Goto as he jumps to the side.
Goto throws the left hand but Allen avoids the punch easily.
Mateus Allen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Goto throws a quick inside leg kick.
Allen waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Goto.
Goto connects with a jab.
Allen lands a nice shot to the body.

Allen shoots in and gets a takedown into Goto's guard.

Allen drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Allen is keen to just control but Goto is a slippery customer.
Allen winds up and cracks Goto with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Allen seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

The fighters circling - Goto throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Goto darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Goto waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Allen.
Allen fails with an attempt to clinch.
Allen misses with a wild body shot.
Goto scoring well with a low kick there.
Allen shoots in looking for a takedown. Goto tries to sprawl out of it but Allen keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Goto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Goto throws a leg kick which misses Allen's front leg but catches the back leg as Allen tries to avoid it.
Allen shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Goto sprawls well. Goto wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Allen gets slowly back to his feet.
Allen dives in and grabs Goto's left leg, looking for a takedown. Goto pushes down on Allen's head and hops out.
Yoshiteru Goto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mateus Allen.

Goto throws a head kick but Allen moves out of range.
Allen avoids a kick to the body.
Allen tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Goto manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Goto can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Allen controls the pace.

Allenis looking to pass into half guard but Goto pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Goto is in guard.

Allen lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Goto!
Goto on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Goto tries to get out of the position.

Goto avoids a series of strikes thrown by Allen.

Allen avoids the attempt from Goto to control.
Allen has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mateus Allen showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Goto throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
A thudding body kick lands there by Goto!
Allen is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Goto rather than just go for the knockout.

The fight stays on the outside here - Allen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Allen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
