Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Erik Quin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacek Kowalski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Quin comes to the cage accompanied by Michel Teló - Ai Se Eu Te Pego . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Erik Quin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jacek Kowalski!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Albert Achterberg and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kowalski is looking to clinch.
A right-left combo lands from Kowalski.
A big right from Kowalski misses.
Nice takedown defense from Kowalski. No joy for Quin on that attempt.
Jacek Kowalski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kowalski clinches up with Quin and pushes him back against the cage.
Kowalski goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Kowalski slows down the pace here.
Kowalski continues to stall. The referee tells him to work or he's going to break them up.

Kowalski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Quin clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Quin turns into Kowalski and is now in his guard.
Quin controlling from the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kowalski utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Quin pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Kowalski is keeping the position for now.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Kowalski holds on and takes a little breather.
Quin is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Quin wants to control from the top but Kowalski keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Erik Quin.
Quin avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kowalski wants to clinch.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Quin is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kowalski makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Kowalski.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kowalski can do anything to dispel that myth.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Kowalski misses with a looping left.
Kowalski looks to throw the jab but Quin is out of range.
Quin connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Kowalski tries to close the distance and clinch but Quin swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Kowalski instigates a clinch.
Kowalski pushes off an throws an elbow but Quin leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A nice left hand lands by Kowalski.

Kowalski pulls guard.
Quin stands up over Kowalski, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
Quin controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Quin drops back, looking for a kneebar! Kowalski looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Kowalski looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Kowalski!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Kowalski looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Quin is not content to let Kowalski control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jacek Kowalski dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Quin closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Kowalski's guard.

Quin with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Quin stays in close to Kowalski's body and controls the position.

Kowalski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Quin gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Quin wants to control from the top but Kowalski keeps moving.

Kowalski is pulling down on Quin's head. It's preventing any offense from Quin, at least for the moment.
Kowalski wants to sweep but no luck.
Quin passes into half guard.
Quin wants to take a breather but Kowalski is having none of it.
Quin keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

Quin working over Kowalski with some ground and pound. Kowalski looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Erik Quin has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Quin takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Kowalski tries to clinch there but Quin circles away.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kowalski moves in looking to clinch but Quin pushes him off.

Quin tries to keep at a distance but Kowalski has taken the fight into the clinch.

Kowalski is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Quin can't fight it off and eventually Kowalski manages to take the fight to the floor. Quin looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kowalski connects with a couple of short punches.
Erik Quin overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Quin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Kowalski gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Quin has his feet on Kowalski's thighs here. He's pushed Kowalski off and worked for a very quick armbar from the bottom! He's flipped onto his stomach and he's cranking hard on the arm! Kowalski screams in pain and taps out! This one is all over!

Erik Quin seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
