The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fontes closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Rosa's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Fontes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fontes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Fontes is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fontes stands and throws Rosa's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Rosa is trying to work for a sweep but Fontes has mounted him!
Fontes tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Fontes jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rosa is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rosa and Fontes has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fontes is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rosa has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rosa!

Rosa is posturing up here but Fontes has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Rosa tries to roll out but it's too tight and Rosa has to tap! Slick submission there by Fontes!
