Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rob Riggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jackson Juliard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Rob Riggins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jackson Juliard!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Riggins tries to clinch up.

Juliard tries to keep at a distance but Riggins has taken the fight into the clinch.
Riggins tries to land a knee to the head but Juliard blocks with his arms.
Riggins lands an elbow inside that Juliard shrugs off.


It looks like Jackson Juliard has been cut.
Riggins lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Juliard takes an elbow to the temple.
Juliard jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Riggins walks away with a smile on his face. Juliard gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Riggins darts in and clinches Juliard up against the cage.
Juliard managing to block the knees to the body from Riggins.

Riggins pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Juliard shoots in for a takedown but Riggins shows good takedown defense.
Rob Riggins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Riggins stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Riggins wants it to stay on the feet.
Rob Riggins has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jackson Juliard.
Juliard shoots in looking for a takedown. Riggins tries to sprawl out of it but Juliard keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Riggins manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Riggins moves into the clinch.
Juliard drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Riggins gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Juliard looking to throw knees to the head but Riggins is blocking nicely.

Riggins lands an elbow inside.
Riggins tries a knee to the head but Juliard blocks it.
Riggins makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Riggins lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Riggins just leaning against Juliard, taking a breather.
Juliard is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Juliard looks gassed!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Riggins lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
Riggins tries a knee to the head but Juliard blocks it.
Riggins lands a nice knee to the body.
Riggins unloads a knee to the mid-section. Juliard lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

That has opened up Jackson Juliard's cut even more.
Riggins lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Juliard is rocked!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Riggins comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Juliard is still on wobbly legs! Can Riggins finish him?
Riggins jerks Juliard's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Juliard drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Riggins goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Riggins because Juliard was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:16 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Rob Riggins!
