Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Dan Quinn!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rex Williams!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Colin Fray and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Williams avoids it really well and circles away.

Quinn fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Williams sprawls well initially but Quinn persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Quinn throws a strike but Williams avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Quinn wants to control from the top but Williams keeps moving.
Quinn is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Williams is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.
Williams is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Williams manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Quinn manages to get himself to full guard.
Quinn looking for a sweep. Not yet Quinn, not yet.

Quinn is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Williams won't allow Quinn to sweep him here.
Williams wants to pass the guard but Quinn is keeping the position.

Williams trying to control the position from guard on top but Quinn is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Williams gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Quinn changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Quinn manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Quinn shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Williams napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Williams is trying to improve his position.

Quinn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Quinn working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Quinn has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Williams wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Williams is looking for a sweep.
Williams is trying to control Quinn's posture but Quinn avoids it.
Williams tries to bench press Quinn off him but Quinn keeps the position.
Quinn misses with the ground and pound.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Quinn is trying to get an arm triangle but Williams is defending well.

Quinn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Quinn misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Williams is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Quinn asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Williams sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Quinn moves into full mount! Williams won't be happy about that!
Williams wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Williams tries to reverse the position but Quinn maintains control.
Quinn looking to finish Williams with some ground and pound. This is bad for Williams!

Quinn wants to finish this one by submission but Williams is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Quinn.
Quinn misses with a head shot.
Quinn scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Quinn looking to ground and pound but Williams is blocking nicely.
Williams is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.

Williams regains half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Quinn missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Williams is looking to improve his position.
Williams regains full guard. Nicely done.

Quinn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Williams has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Quinn has managed to get both his arms back between Williams's legs - danger averted.
Quinn advances position into side control!
Williams gets back to half guard.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Williams makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Williams.
Quinn looking to pass the guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dan Quinn dominated that round.
That's time! Quinn's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Williams clinches.
Quinn drops down looking for an ankle pick but Williams pulls his leg out and moves away.
Quinn tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.
Dan Quinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Williams avoids the head kick by Quinn.
Sloppy strikes from Williams. Those never looked like landing.
Quinn shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Williams counters by moving into the clinch.
Quinn with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams tries to break free but Quinn pushes him back against the cage.

Quinn decides to pull guard.
Williams trying to control but Quinn is working from the bottom.
Quinn is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Williams is controlling him.
Williams controls from within his opponent's guard.

Quinn working for submissions but it's allowed Williams to get to half guard.
Williams passes the guard and advances to mount!
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Williams cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Quinn is wriggling around trying to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Williams trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Williams get's back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Quinn shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Quinn gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Quinn. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Quinn.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Quinn tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Williams paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice sprawl there from Williams as Quinn shoots in.
Quinn tries to clinch but Williams is having none of it.
Williams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Quinn.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Quinn will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Williams slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Williams connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Williams drops Quinn with a beautiful combination! Quinn stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Williams is looking for the KO!


Quinn is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Williams keeps the fight on the outside.
Oh Quinn is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Quinn wants to clinch but Williams slips to the side
and Williams counters with a right, left combo that wobbles Quinn badly! Williams follows up with a massive right hook, straight to the bridge of the nose that knocks Quinn out cold! Oh wow, what a finish! Very reminiscent of Koscheck vs Yoshida as Williams finished him against the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Rex Williams!
