Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Trevor Ferrat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Acevedes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Acevedes is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: California Love. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Trevor Ferrat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Marcus Acevedes!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Tiny Johnson and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Ferrat throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Ferrat ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Acevedes moves away.

Acevedes closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Ferrat to the mat! Ferrat manages to get full guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Acevedes accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Ferrat wants to sweep but no luck.
Ferrat trying to keep a closed guard but Acevedes is proving a slippery customer.
Ferrat has control of Acevedes's left arm, preventing Acevedes from doing any damage.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Trevor Ferrat.
Ferrat thows a body shot but no joy.

Acevedes throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Ferrat throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Acevedes misses with a jab, cross combination.
Acevedes shoots in looking for a takedown but Ferrat manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Acevedes's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Acevedes fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ferrat scores with a jab to the head.

Trevor Ferrat seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Acevedes keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Trevor Ferrat has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Marcus Acevedes.
Acevedes uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ferrat.

and Acevedes decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Ferrat's guard.

Acevedes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Ferrat works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Acevedes throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Ferrat is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Acevedes is controlling him.
Acevedes postures up in Ferrat's guard and throws a big left but Ferrat blocks it.

A close round but Marcus Acevedes will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Acevedes throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ferrat.
Ferrat tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Acevedes was well out of range. Poor timing from Ferrat.

Acevedes changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Ferrat looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Acevedes throws a strike aimed at the side of Ferrat's head but Ferrat avoids it well.

Acevedes goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Ferrat has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Acevedes but great work by Ferrat.
Acevedes is looking to regain half guard here but Ferrat keeps moving and retains side control.
Acevedes can't do much from the bottom here.

Ferrat wants to stand but Acevedes has his arm trapped.
Acevedes tries to improve position but can't.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ferrat decides to stand back up. Ferrat steps back and let's Acevedes get back to his feet.
Ferrat lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Acevedes circles away quickly and effectively.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Acevedes keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Acevedes fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Acevedes avoids a lazy jab quite easily.

Ferrat misses with a hook
and Acevedes counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Acevedes takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
No joy there for Ferrat, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Acevedes uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ferrat.
Ferrat is looking to wear down Acevedes with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Ferrat gets caught flat footed, as Acevedes shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Acevedes postures up and lands a big shot to Ferrat's brow.
Marcus Acevedes has got the better of the ground game so far.
Acevedes trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Ferrat is trying to control the position but Acevedes postures up.
Ferrat wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

We're going to have a standup here because Trevor Ferrat wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Ferrat slips under a jab from Acevedes.
Trevor Ferrat is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Acevedes shoots in and drives through. Ferrat sprawls well.
Ferrat lands a nice hook to Acevedes's body. Acevedes takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.

Trevor Ferrat has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Acevedes is looking to work some ground and pound but Ferrat has wrist control.

Acevedes drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ferrat manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Acevedes has Ferrat in his guard.
Ferrat looking to sit in guard and control but Acevedes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Acevedes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ferrat swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ferrat is looking to stand back up but Acevedes counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Ferrat.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Acevedes not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Acevedes looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.

Ferrat is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Acevedes pulls his head out easily.
Acevedes wants to pass the guard but Ferrat is defending well.

And that's the end of the fight!
Marcus Acevedes comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Acevedes winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
