Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Randal Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Power (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Power has chosen Fabolous, 50cent, Mase - Breathe Remix as his entrance music. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Max Power was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Randal Stevens!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 25 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Max Power!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Hirohito Nitta and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens digs a good hook to Power's body.
Stevens throws a right hand that misses
and Power counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Stevens thinking.
Power clobbers Stevens with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Stevens closes the distance and clinches.
Stevens is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Power pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Power lands an elbow inside.
Power wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Stevens misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Stevens throws a punch but it's blocked by Power.
Power tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.
Power tries to break free but Stevens pushes him back against the cage.
Power lands a glancing elbow in the clinch.
Stevens doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
A short right from Stevens.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Stevens wants a takedown but no success here.
Stevens scores with a shot to the side of Power's head.
With the fighters up against the cage, Power throws an elbow but misses.
Stevens has Power pressed against the cage, preventing Power from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Stevens blocks a body shot from Power.

Stevens fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
Power pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Stevens is pushing Power up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Stevens lands a body punch in the clinch.
Stevens gets through Power's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Stevens struggles to land a body shot inside as Power controls his hands.
Stevens tries for a takedown. No joy.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Power throws a wild body kick that Stevens sees coming a mile off.
Power shoots in but no luck this time.

Stevens moves into the clinch.
Stevens misses with a hook to the ribs.

Stevens tries a body shot but Power blocks it.
Power wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Power tried to score with a low kick but Stevens checks it.
Stevens jabs away that one connects to the head of his opponent.
Stevens ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Power moves away.
Power throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Stevens sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Power throws a push kick but Stevens slaps the foot to one side.
Power misses with a shot to the body
and Stevens counters with a stiff right hand.
Stevens tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Power was well out of range. Poor timing from Stevens.
Stevens lunges at Power with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Power's hand.

Power throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Stevens connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Power feints and as Stevens raises his hands in defense, Power changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Stevens has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Power has passed into side control.
Power is looking to take a break and control but Stevens is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Stevens tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Power wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Power is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Stevens is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Power thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Power in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Stevens gets back to half guard.
Stevens is looking to control Power's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Stevens avoid being mounted?
Stevens is trying is best to control the position here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Stevens is not content to let Power control the position.
Stevens tries to get to full guard but Power has control of the leg.

Stevens has a hand on Power's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Power takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Power goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Stevens is on top in guard.
Stevens connects with a couple of short punches.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Power trying to control the position.

Power working for a triangle but Stevens defends it easily.
Stevens trying to control the position from guard on top but Power is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Power trying to keep a closed guard but Stevens is proving a slippery customer.

Power working for submissions but it's allowed Stevens to get to half guard.

Stevens looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Stevens lands a nice short elbow.
Power wants to control but Stevens is keeping busy.
Power moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

That's eight minutes gone in the round.
Stevens throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Power is looking for a triangle but Stevens pushes his legs off easily.
Stevens passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Power is not content to let Stevens control the position.
Stevens moves into full mount!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Power can't escape the position.
Stevens avoids the attempt from Power to control.
Power tries to reverse the position but Stevens maintains control.

Stevens with the ground and pound from mount.
Stevens trying to control but Power is having none of it.
Stevens is trying to control here but Power has managed to regain half guard.
Power is staying active underneath Stevens, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Stevens thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Power moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Stevens won't allow Power to sweep him here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Randal Stevens will probably get the nod.

Power fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Stevens sprawls well initially but Power persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Power seems to be working for a kimura but Stevens defends the submission attempt.

Max Power has got the better of the ground game so far.

Power drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stevens looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stevens looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stevens!
Power is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Stevens lands strikes from half guard.
Stevens trying to control the action but Power is working from the bottom.
Power wants to improve his position but Stevens is controlling well.

Stevens postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Power bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Stevens and the fight is over!
