PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Alexander Feucht (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Parsons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Feucht comes to the cage accompanied by Wherever I May Roam. John Parsons is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alexander Feucht!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, John Parsons!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Vladimir Khabensky and Aleksei Zolotukhin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Parsons misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Parsons keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Feucht.

Feucht shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Feucht is pressing down on Parsons's thigh, looking to free his foot. Parsons is holding on for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Feucht looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Parsons with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Parsons trying to hold on to Feucht's head to control him but Feucht postures up.
Feucht thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Parsons keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Feucht tries to pass the half guard into mount. Parsons knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Feucht takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Feucht postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Parsons escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Feucht gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Parsons is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Feucht defends well.
Feucht has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Parsons is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Parsons lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Feucht!

Feucht on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Feucht tries to get out of the position.

Parsons has control of Feucht's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Feucht regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Parsons moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Feucht has worked his arm free - good work by Feucht!
Feucht is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Parsons is controlling him well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Parsons has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Parsons there as he acknowledges the shot.


It looks like John Parsons has been cut.
Feucht throws a hook to the side of Parsons's head but Parsons sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Feucht fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Parsons sprawls well initially but Feucht persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Feucht tries to free his leg and advance position but Parsons is retaining full guard.

Parsons is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Feucht to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Feucht shrugs it off.

Parsons moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Feucht has worked his arm free - good work by Feucht!

Parsons goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Feucht has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Parsons but great work by Feucht.

Feucht seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Parsons does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Feucht throws a strike but Parsons rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Feucht wants to get back to his feet but Parsons is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Alexander Feucht will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!



Feucht closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Feucht lands in his opponent's guard.

Feucht got a little sloppy there for a moment and Parsons has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Feucht has managed to get both his arms back between Parsons's legs - danger averted.

Parsons looking to hit a scissor sweep but Feucht is one step ahead there.

Feucht stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Parsons swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Feucht changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Parsons looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
