Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Wanderlei Silva Jr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 14 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Paul Ooka!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Dillan Fox and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

It looks like Paul Ooka has been cut.
Ooka misses the jab.
Ooka throws a right and a left that both miss.
Ooka shoots in and drives through. Silva Jr sprawls well.
Paul Ooka seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ooka gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Silva Jr.
Ooka loads up on a big right hand but Silva Jr slips the punch.
Ooka checks the leg kick nicely there.
Silva Jr fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Silva Jr throws out a loose jab but Ooka uses good head movement to avoid it.
Silva Jr attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Ooka throws a sloppy head kick and Silva Jr moves out of range easily.

Silva Jr misses with the head strike.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silva Jr is trying to break free.
Silva Jr misses with a punch on the inside.
Ooka tries to circle away but Silva Jr has him pinned against the cage.
Come on Silva Jr - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Ooka misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Ooka wants to take the fight to the mat but Silva Jr manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Ooka blocks a body shot from Silva Jr.
Ooka has Silva Jr pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Silva Jr manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Wanderlei Silva Jr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Paul Ooka.
Ooka changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Silva Jr fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Silva Jr blocks a low kick nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Ooka sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Silva Jr just misses with a punch to the body.
Silva Jr throws a good cross that connects.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Ooka is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Ooka changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Silva Jr tries to avoid it but Ooka manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Silva Jr to the ground. Silva Jr escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A swing and a miss from Ooka.
Ooka doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Ooka closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.


That has opened up Paul Ooka's cut even more.
Ooka drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Ooka throws a predictable looking body shot
and Silva Jr counters with a nice body shot.

Ooka drives through with a takedown into Silva Jr's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Ooka looks gassed!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Silva Jr managing to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ooka is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Ooka preventing the sweep.
Ooka slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Ooka shoots for a double leg takedown but Silva Jr sprawls well. He's pushed Ooka's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ooka lands a nice hook to Silva Jr's body. Silva Jr takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Ooka takes a swing at Silva Jr's ribcage but misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ooka throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Silva Jr cracks Ooka with an open hand slap.
Ooka uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Silva Jr.
Ooka fails with a takedown attempt.
Silva Jr throws a leg kick
and Ooka counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ooka will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Ooka's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Ooka duly obliges.
Silva Jr slips under a jab from Ooka.
Silva Jr keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Ooka swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Nice uppercut lands for Silva Jr. That snapped Ooka's head back.


The cut above Paul Ooka's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
A looping hook to the body misses from Silva Jr. Ooka does a little dance to reset his feet.
Silva Jr throws a lazy right hand but Ooka sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Wanderlei Silva Jr dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Paul Ooka's cut.
That's time! Back to the action!


Silva Jr scores with a jab.
Ooka has a takedown stuffed.
Ooka misses the shot to the body.
Ooka wants to clinch.
Ooka takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Silva Jr stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Silva Jr wants it to stay on the feet.
Ooka closes the distance looking to clinch
and Silva Jr counters with a lovely straight right hand!


Ooka is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ooka glances at the clock... BAM! Silva Jr nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Ooka crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Ooka is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:58 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Wanderlei Silva Jr!
