Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Calvin Broadus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Benson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Broadus comes to the cage accompanied by Who Am I?. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Benson throws a hook but Broadus blocks it.
Broadus connects with the punch.
Broadus misses with a two punch combination.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Benson.
Nice body punch from Broadus.
Broadus lands with an uppercut that bounces Benson off the cage and back into range.
Benson drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Benson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Broadus moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Broadus throws out a loose jab but Benson uses good head movement to avoid it.

Benson uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Broadus.
Broadus throws a series of punches but Benson avoids them all with ease.
Broadus stuffs the takedown attempt from Benson. Benson gets slowly back to his feet.
Benson shoots in but no luck this time.
Calvin Broadus has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Benson.

Broadus throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Broadus is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.

Benson tries to score with some ground and pound. Broadus controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Broadus looks to move to half guard but instead Benson has passed into mount! Damn!
Benson misses with a head shot.
Broadus slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Benson thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Broadus's head.
Broadus tries to get to full guard but Benson has control of the leg.
Broadus really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Calvin Broadus will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Benson fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Broadus throws a jab but it's blocked by Benson.
Broadus lands a slapping body shot.
Benson's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Broadus connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Benson scrambles back to his feet.

Benson doesn't manage to clinch there - Broadus circles away.

Broadus stuffs the takedown attempt from Benson. Benson gets slowly back to his feet.
No luck for Benson with that takedown attempt.

and Broadus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Broadus cracks Benson with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Benson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Broadus pinned against the cage. Broadus gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Broadus fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Broadus slips under a jab from Benson.
Broadus lands with a right hand.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A cross from Broadus lands.
A combination from Broadus does no damage.
Benson keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Benson.
James Benson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

and Benson counters with a nice double leg into side control. Broadus won't be happy with that.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Benson throwing ground and pound but whilst doing so, he forgets to control position and Broadus works his way back to half guard. Good composure under pressure.

Benson is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Broadus is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
