Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Louis Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Dai (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez comes to the cage accompanied by Brother Louie. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Louis Velasquez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mark Dai!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Velasquez thows a body shot but no joy.
Dai tries to clinch there but Velasquez circles away.
Dai fails with the takedown.
Dai shoots in for a takedown but Velasquez shows good takedown defense.
Velasquez stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Velasquez wants it to stay on the feet.
Louis Velasquez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mark Dai.
Velasquez lands a nice looking body shot.
Dai fails with a takedown attempt.
Velasquez fails to land with a series of punches.
Dai misses with a takedown attempt - Velasquez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Velasquez circles away from the clinch attempt.

Dai shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Dai looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Velasquez on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Velasquez tries to get out of the position.

Dai swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Velasquez is now in Dai's guard. A big mistake from Dai there, giving up the dominant position!

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dai is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Dai has a closed guard, preventing Velasquez from standing up.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Velasquez wants to pass the guard but Dai is keeping the position.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Louis Velasquez wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Dai throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Dai takes one to the side of the head.
Dai will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dai looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Dai misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Velasquez takes a swing at Dai's ribcage but misses.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Velasquez lands with a shot to the body.
Velasquez uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Dai has time to react.
Velasquez stuns Dai with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Velasquez looks to land a left hand but Dai moved out of range nicely.

Dai is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Velasquez's half guard.
Dai has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Dai has isolated one of Velasquez's arms. Velasquez looking to fight him off but Dai twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:50 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Mark Dai!
