Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcel Cabral!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cabral misses with an attempted mid kick.
Cabral closes the distance looking to clinch
and Sares counters with a series of strikes. Cabral will be more careful next time no doubt.
Cabral tries to clinch there but Sares circles away.
Cabral shoots in but no luck this time.

Cabral takes the fight into the clinch.

Sares escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
A slapping body kick lands there for Cabral.

Cabral moves into the clinch successfully.

Cabral can't get the takedown.
Come on Cabral - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Sares has had enough of the clinch but Cabral keeps him there for the moment.
Cabral is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Cabral lands a good knee to the midsection. Sares won't want to take too many of those.
Sares is trying to push Cabral away but Cabral has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Cabral has closed the distance and engaged Sares in a clinch.

Cabral manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Cabral throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Sares got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cabral has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Sares has managed to get both his arms back between Cabral's legs - danger averted.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Sares stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Cabral swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sares loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Sares lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Cabral circles away quickly and effectively.
Sares rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Cabral moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Cabral tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sares paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Cabral tries for a takedown but Sares sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Cabral fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcel Cabral showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Sares displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Cabral.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.

Bob Sares has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Sares throws a right hand that Cabral ducks under and follows up with a left that Cabral also avoids with ease.

and Sares counters with a three punch combo that has Cabral backing up. Cabral nods at Sares to acknowledge the strikes.

Sloppy strikes from Cabral. Those never looked like landing.

Sares lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Cabral backs up against the cage.

and Cabral counters by moving into the clinch.
Sares tries to break the clinch but Cabral is controlling the position.
Cabral fails to pull guard.

Cabral breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Marcel Cabral is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Sares slips a jab from Cabral.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Bob Sares.
Well Cabral has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
