Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Anderson Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Thiago Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gomez fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Silva to the ground. Gomez is now in Silva's guard.
Gomez working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Gomez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Silva sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Gomez somewhat.
Silva dives in and grabs Gomez's left leg, looking for a takedown. Gomez pushes down on Silva's head and hops out.
Silva shoots in for a takedown but Gomez shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Silva shoots for a takedown but Gomez saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Silva throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

Gomez shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Silva sprawls well. Silva wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gomez gets slowly back to his feet.

Silva is covering up but some of the strikes from Gomez are getting through and doing damage.

You can see the frustration on Silva's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Thiago Gomez has got the better of the ground game so far.

Silva throws a sloppy head kick and Gomez moves out of range easily.

Silva closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Silva tries to get to his feet but Gomez is in the middle of advancing position himself and ends up with Silva in his guard.
Gomez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Silva manages to get himself to full guard.
Gomez stands and throws Silva's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Gomez is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Silva looks calm but he's in trouble here. Gomez gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Silva is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Gomez lets go of the hold and Silva can pop his arm back in it's socket.
