The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A jab-cross combination lands for Nadoev and sends Mean crashing to the mat! Nadoev follows him down to the mat - Mean regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Mean is rocked!

It looks like Jean Mean has been cut.
Nadoev wants to get back to his feet.
Oh Mean is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mean is trying to stand back up but Nadoev is controlling him

Mean shoots in but Nadoev avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Nadoev takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.

A left hand lands to the body for Nadoev.
Mean tries to stall but Nadoev uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Mean is working for takedown but Nadoev is calmly controlling the position for now.
Nadoev works on Mean's body with a couple of short punches.
Nadoev tries to break the clinch but Mean is controlling the position.

Mean manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Mean with that takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jean Mean. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mean is breathing heavily.
Mean avoids a punch combination nicely.
Mean moves forwards but Nadoev connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Mean takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Nadoev tries to bum rush Mean with a series of wild strikes but Mean uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mean throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Nadoev connects with a stiff jab that staggers Mean - oh and he follows up with a huge uppercut that knocks him out cold! Man, that was brutal!
