The judges for this bout are Aafke Stam, Wagner Zegers and Nard Betker.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Savea lands with a shot to the body.

Savea has closed the distance and engaged Goossens in a clinch.

Goossens pulls Savea into guard.
Goossens is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Goossens keeping moving, preventing Savea from controlling successfully.
Savea lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Savea missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Goossens working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Savea.
Savea tries to free his leg and advance position but Goossens is retaining full guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Savea accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Savea looking to sit in guard and control but Goossens gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Goossens wants to stand and escape but instead Savea has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Savea trying to control the position from guard on top but Goossens is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Savea slips nicely into half guard.
Savea looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
Savea not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Goossens is trying to get back to full guard.
Savea is nestled in close to Goossens, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Goossens has hold of Savea's hands but Savea slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Savea seems to be trying to get a kimura but instead Goossens has recovered full guard.

Savea is working Goossens over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Savea won't allow Goossens to get back to his feet.

Savea stands up and waves to Goossens to follow him.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Savea dives in and scores a takedown into Goossens's guard.

Goossens is looking to stand back up but Savea counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Goossens.

Savea is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Savea lands strikes from half guard.
Savea throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Savea stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Goossens to get to his feet.

Savea darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Savea connects with a nice short shot to Goossens's temple.

Savea looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Goossens with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Savea lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Goossens taking some punishment here, with Savea in his half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Goossens is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Goossens is defending against the submission attempts here by Savea.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Goossens throws a combination that misses
and Savea counters with a two punch combo.
Savea throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
A head kick from Savea lands but Goossens takes it in his stride.

Goossens has closed the distance and engaged Savea in a clinch.
Goossens is trying to force a seperation but Savea has the dominant position.
Goossens looking to slow down the pace here.

Savea pulls guard.
Savea has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Savea has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Goossens off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
A combination from Goossens does no damage.

Goossens bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Savea can't do much from the bottom here.
Savea on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Savea tries to get out of the position.
Savea isn't going anywhere.
Goossens is breathing heavily.

Goossens trying to control the position but Savea is working away.
Goossens throwing strikes but Savea manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
Savea content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Goossens is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Savea cracks Goossens with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Savea landing with strikes to the head and body from side control.
Savea works to advance to full mount. Goossens defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Goossens is in a horrible position here. Savea smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Savea pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Savea cracks Goossens with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Samson Savea overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Savea lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Savea lands a big shot to the head and Goossens winces in pain. He's tapped out due to strikes!
