The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Becker looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Becker tries to clinch but fails miserably
and Haddl counters with a series of strikes. Becker will be more careful next time no doubt.

Becker comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

Becker shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Haddl but Haddl pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Haddl cracks Becker with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Becker looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Haddl finish him?

Haddl drops Becker with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Becker looks back up at him and smiles so Haddl waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Haddl is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Becker had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Becker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Basti Haddl is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Haddl fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Becker manages to avoid it.

Haddl slaps away a takedown attempt from Becker, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Haddl lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Becker circles away quickly and effectively.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
