The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnstone throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Johnstone throws a right hand that machida ducks under and follows up with a left that machida also avoids with ease.

Johnstone has had enough of the clinch but machida keeps him there for the moment.
machida wants a takedown but no success here.
Johnstone drops to a knee looking for a takedown but machida gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Johnstone wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Johnstone wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but machida has him pressed against the cage.

Jimmy Johnstone is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Johnstone drops his hands momentarily. machida doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Johnstone staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Johnstone doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
