Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Slim Jim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maku Hiro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maku Hiro acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Slim Jim!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Maku Hiro!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Nard Betker and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jim has his takedown stuffed
and Hiro counters with a stiff right hand.

Hiro closes the distance and clinches.

Hiro pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Jim gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Hiro counters with a nice uppercut.
Jim shoots and misses
and Hiro counters with a three punch combo that has Jim backing up. Jim nods at Hiro to acknowledge the strikes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slim Jim. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hiro shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hiro is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Jim regains full guard. Nicely done.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jim looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jim is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hiro is aware though and is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hiro accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Hiro wants to control from the top but Jim keeps moving.
Jim will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Jim has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hiro can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Hiro stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Jim swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Hiro slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Jim is looking for a triangle but Hiro pushes his legs off easily.
Jim keeping moving, preventing Hiro from controlling successfully.

Jim had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hiro defends it easily.

Jim throws his legs up looking for a submission but Hiro uses it to pass to side control.
Jim is breathing heavily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hiro tries to advance to mount but can't.
Hiro trying to control the action but Jim is working from the bottom.
Hiro slows the pace down.
Jim tries to bench press Hiro off him but Hiro keeps the position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Hiro cracks Jim with a big right hand but Jim just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Hiro trying to control the position but Jim is working away.
Jim looking for a sweep but Hiro has passed into full mount! Oh no!
Jim is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hiro controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim fails with the takedown
and Hiro counters with a left to the body.
Hiro moves into range and connects with a jab.

Jim shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hiro manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jim wants to pass the guard but Hiro is keeping the position.

Jim drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hiro manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Jim has Hiro in his guard.

Hiro not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Jim is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Hiro defends well.
Hiro controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Hiro postures up in Jim's guard and throws a big left but Jim blocks it.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Maku Hiro hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Hiro tries to clinch but Jim is having none of it.
Jim misses with a takedown
and Hiro counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Hiro darts in and clinches Jim up against the cage.
Hiro misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Jim.
Hiro is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Jim is defending well for now.

Hiro breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jim tries for a takedown but Hiro circles away easily
and Hiro counters with a straight right hand.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Slim Jim. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Hiro clinches with his opponent.

Hiro breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Hiro decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Jim is not content to let Hiro control the position.
Jim has hold of Hiro's hands but Hiro slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hiro is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
Jim's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Jim is trying to escape the mount.

Hiro looking for a guillotine from mount but Jim is having none of it.
Hiro takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Hiro cracks Jim with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Hiro manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jim to take his back!
Jim looking very determined here, making life difficult for Hiro.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hiro doesn't have the hooks in and Jim manages to turn into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jim drops back, looking for a kneebar! Hiro looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Hiro looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Hiro!
Hiro content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Maku Hiro showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Jim with a lazy takedown attempt

and Hiro counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Jim looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hiro engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Hiro content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hiro's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Maku Hiro has got the better of the ground game so far.

Hiro is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Hiro passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Jim!
Jim is in all sorts of trouble here.

BOOM! Hiro connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Hiro manages to capitalize on a mistake by Jim to take his back!

Hiro biding his time, controlling Jim.
I really don't envy Jim right now.

Hiro patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Maku Hiro is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
Jim wants to escape the position.
Hiro is riding his opponent, not letting Jim buck him off.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Slim Jim has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

And that's the end of the fight!
Maku Hiro comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hiro has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
