Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Borislav Borodin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rickson Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Borislav Borodin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rickson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Colin Fray, Micheangelo Fripello and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Borodin pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Gracie takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Gracie closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Borodin did well to prevent Gracie getting side control.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Gracie wants to pass the guard but Borodin is defending well.
Gracie is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Gracie is looking to advance position but Borodin won't allow it.
Borodin gets back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Borodin is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gracie defends well.
Gracie works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Gracie is trying to control the action in half guard but Borodin is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gracie moves nicely into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Borodin is not content to let Gracie control the position.
Gracie remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Borodin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Gracie on the ground.
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Borodin is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rickson Gracie was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Gracie shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Borodin pinned against the cage. Borodin gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gracie looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Borodin tries to lock up and control but Gracie gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Gracie looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Borodin tries to roll but Gracie sticks to his back.
Gracie is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Borodin has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Gracie has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Borodin taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Gracie doesn't care though - he's delighted!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Rickson Gracie!
During a confident post fight interview, Rickson Gracie thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
