Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roger Givens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Summers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, James Summers !
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Gwen Towbar and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Givens tries to check the leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Givens doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Summers holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Summers lands an elbow inside that Givens shrugs off.


It looks like Roger Givens has been cut.

Summers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Givens misses with a takedown
and Summers counters with an inside leg kick.
Givens misses with a takedown
and Summers counters with a body kick that stops Givens in his tracks momentarily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Roger Givens . That's going to take a lot out of him.

and Summers counters with a shoot takedown. Givens fights it but they end up in guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Givens is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

James Summers has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Summers bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Summers throwing strikes but Givens manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!

You can see the frustration on Summers 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Givens really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Givens is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Summers really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Givens .

James Summers has got the better of the ground game so far.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. James Summers wasn't active enough on the ground.
Summers plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Givens shoots and misses

and Summers counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Givens 's guard now.

Givens tries for a takedown but Summers circles away easily
and Summers counters with a nice low kick that buckles Givens 's knee momentarily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Summers forces Givens back against the cage and clinches.

Summers gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

Summers decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Givens , up you get!

Summers drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Summers is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Givens is surviving well by controlling Summers 's body position as best he can.
Summers has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Summers wants to finish this one by submission but Givens is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Summers .

Summers has hold of Givens 's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Givens manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Summers content just to control the position here.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Summers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Summers pushes down on Givens 's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Givens keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Givens looks like he's trying to stand up.

Summers decides to stand and escape the position.
Roger Givens seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

and Summers decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Givens 's guard.

Summers lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Givens is trying to stand.

Summers tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Summers postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Givens looks a forlorn figure.

Summers looking for a guillotine from mount but Givens is having none of it.
Roger Givens has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
James Summers is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James Summers comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Summers has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
