The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Overeem looks to land a combination but The Nightmare avoids it well.
The Nightmare changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Overeem tries to avoid it but The Nightmare manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Overeem to the ground. Overeem escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Alistair Overeem seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The Nightmare fails to land the takedown.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The Nightmare is looking for a sweep.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Overeem is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but The Nightmare is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
