Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Nick Kaminsky!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mc Cafe!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Ian Loll and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaminsky shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Kaminsky gets to his feet - Cafe follows without any prompting.

Kaminsky changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Cafe looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Kaminsky could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Kaminsky is looking to take a break and control but Cafe is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Kaminsky has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Kaminsky closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Cafe's guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kaminsky with a flurry of punches that miss.
Cafe trying to keep a closed guard but Kaminsky is proving a slippery customer.
Kaminsky throws a strike but Cafe rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

We're going to have a standup here because Nick Kaminsky wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Cafe wants to control the pace but Kaminsky is squirming around nicely.
Kaminsky is looking to get to half guard.
Kaminsky wants to control but Cafe is having none of it.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kaminsky holds on for dear life.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Cafe looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kaminsky is fending him off so far but Cafe persists. Nope, Kaminsky circles away and we're back to standing.

Kaminsky throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Cafe was covering up waiting for the punch and Kaminsky finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

and Kaminsky counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Cafe!

Kaminsky stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Cafe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Kaminsky pinned against the cage. Kaminsky gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Nick Kaminsky has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mc Cafe.

Cafe gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Kaminsky wants to control from the top but Cafe keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Cafe not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Kaminsky has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Cafe is proving hard to escape from.
Nick Kaminsky overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Cafe looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Nick Kaminsky wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Cafe can't do much from the bottom here.

Kaminsky goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Cafe rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Kaminsky's guard! Nice work there by Cafe!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Kaminsky is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Kaminsky looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Kaminsky trying to keep a closed guard but Cafe is proving a slippery customer.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Nick Kaminsky.

Kaminsky shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kaminsky was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Cafe misses with a takedown

and Kaminsky counters with a nice double leg into side control. Cafe won't be happy with that.

Kaminsky tries for a kimura but Cafe is defending well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Cafe parries the strikes from Kaminsky easily there. Kaminsky is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Cafe to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Nick Kaminsky dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Cafe drives through with a takedown into Kaminsky's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Kaminsky isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cafe stacks Kaminsky on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cafe!
Kaminsky manages to get back to half guard.
Kaminsky is not content to let Cafe control the position.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Kaminsky here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Well, if Kaminsky is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Cafe has hold of Kaminsky's hands but Kaminsky slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Kaminsky throws a strike but Cafe avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Kaminsky in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Cafe is working an open guard so Kaminsky takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Nick Kaminsky is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kaminsky shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Cafe trying to control from the bottom.

Kaminsky is trying to work for a kimura but Cafe is defending well.
Kaminsky wants to advance to full mount but Cafe doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cafe is trying to control the position but Kaminsky postures up.

Kaminsky would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Kaminsky has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
