Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Corbin Latrell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Cola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Corbin Latrell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Greg Cola!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Latrell fails with a takedown attempt.
Latrell looks for the body kick but Cola saw that one coming.
Latrell avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Cola shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cola slaps away a takedown attempt from Latrell, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Latrell shoots in for a double leg but Cola sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corbin Latrell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Latrell has his takedown stuffed

and Cola counters with a shoot takedown. Latrell fights it but they end up in guard.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Latrell lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cola!

Latrell stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Cola.
Cola stuffs the takedown.
Latrell is breathing heavily.

Latrell shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Cola as he avoids it easily.

Cola gets a clinch.
Cola prevents the takedown attempt.

Cola pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Cola pushes Latrell up against the cage in a clinch.

Cola breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Cola is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Latrell tries to keep at a distance but Cola has taken the fight into the clinch.
Latrell misses with the head strike.

Cola pulls guard successfully.
Cola looking for a sweep. Not yet Cola, not yet.
Latrell trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Cola looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cola trying to keep a closed guard but Latrell is proving a slippery customer.
Cola really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Latrell. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Cola is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Latrell drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Cola manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Latrell has Cola in his guard.
Cola must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Latrell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cola defends well.

Latrell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Cola slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Latrell keeping full guard, as Cola tries to pass.
Latrell can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Cola controls the pace.

Latrell is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Cola defends well.
Cola wants to pass the guard but Latrell is keeping the position.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Greg Cola wasn't active enough on the ground.
Latrell tries to move into range but Cola moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Cola drives through with a takedown into Latrell's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Latrell is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Latrell isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Cola stacks Latrell on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Cola!

Cola decides to stand back up. Cola steps back and let's Latrell get back to his feet.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cola throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Latrell fails with a takedown attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Greg Cola dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Cola fails to land the takedown.
Cola throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cola misses with a two punch combination.
Latrell tries to close the distance and clinch up but Cola swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Latrell shoots and misses
and Cola counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Latrell.
Latrell shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cola as he jumps to the side.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Corbin Latrell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Latrell tries to close the distance and clinch but Cola swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cola closes the distance and clinches.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Cola prevents the takedown attempt.
Cola stops a takedown attempt from Latrell.

Cola jumps into guard, dragging Latrell to the mat.
Cola pulls Latrell in close to prevent any damage.
Let's hope that Cola has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Latrell might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Greg Cola.

Latrell rushes Cola and presses him up against the cage.

Cola breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cola shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

It looks like Cola is going to stand back up.
Latrell is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Latrell won't allow Cola to pass to mount.
Cola wants to stand up but Latrell has a hold of him and won't allow it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Cola is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cola sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Latrell on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Latrell is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Cola's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Cola's back!
Greg Cola has got the better of the ground game so far.

Latrell lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Latrell.

Latrell working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.

Latrell is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Cola knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Cola for a finish.
Cola breaks Latrell's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Greg Cola showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!



Latrell decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Cola makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Cola.
Cola is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Latrell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Cola is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Latrell postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Cola is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Latrell, into his guard.

Latrell has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Cola can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Latrell is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Cola rolls with it to try and escape but Latrell cranks on the arm and Cola is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
