The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Maia closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Cacilds to the mat! Cacilds manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Cacilds working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Maia doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Maia manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Cacilds tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Maia was well out of range. Poor timing from Cacilds.

Cacilds fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Maia manages to avoid it.

Cacilds gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Maia to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
