Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rudy Wayne (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Denis Aussi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Rudy Wayne!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Denis Aussi!
The judges for this bout are Winston Howard, Damien Edna and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wayne stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wayne wants it to stay on the feet.
Wayne shoots in but no luck this time.
Wayne throws a head kick but Aussi moves out of range.
Wayne fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Aussi avoids it really well and circles away.
Wayne looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Aussi stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Aussi wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rudy Wayne. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wayne fails with a takedown attempt.
Wayne shoots in looking for a takedown but Aussi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wayne's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Wayne looks to clinch

and Aussi moves into the clinch.
Aussi is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Wayne prevents the takedown attempt.
Aussi content to slow the pace in the clinch.

Aussi jumps into guard, dragging Wayne to the mat.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Aussi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Aussi preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Wayne postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Aussi keeping moving, preventing Wayne from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Aussi seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

Wayne drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Aussi dives on top into guard.

Wayne tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Aussi drops back looking for a leg! Wayne is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wayne manages to kick Aussi off! Aussi jumps back into Wayne's guard.

Aussi content to stall in guard here.

Wayne looking for subs off his back but Aussi has passed one foot through into half guard.

Wayne throws a strike from the bottom that misses.

Aussi is trying to work for a kimura but Wayne is defending well.
Aussi is controlling the pace.
Wayne wants to control but Aussi is keeping busy.

Wayne has guillotine here! It looks pretty tight! Could this be all over! No, Aussi escapes and passes into side control at the same time. Nice work there by Aussi!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Aussi tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.
Aussi working away.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Aussi prevents Wayne from escaping the position.
Wayne is trying to control Aussi's posture but Aussi avoids it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Denis Aussi will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Wayne closes the distance looking to clinch

and Aussi counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
Aussi is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Aussi pulls guard.

Aussi is looking for a triangle but Wayne pushes his legs off easily.
Wayne trying to control but Aussi is working from the bottom.
Aussi keeping full guard, as Wayne tries to pass.

Aussi striking off his back but it's not causing Wayne any problems.

Aussi looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Aussi lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Wayne!
Wayne wants to hold on but Aussi pushes him away.

Aussi moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Wayne has worked his arm free - good work by Wayne!
Aussi passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Wayne!

Wayne is arching his back trying to strike from the bottom but Aussi turns him over and now has his back.
Aussi avoiding Wayne 's attempts to control his hands.
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Aussi misses with punches from the back.

Aussi tightening his grip on Wayne, looking for the choke.
Wayne tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Wayne wants to control but Aussi is having none of it.
Aussi throwing strikes here but Wayne is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Aussi can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Wayne is looking to escape.

Aussi working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Wayne is looking to get to half guard.

Aussi throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Wayne because Aussi loaded up on that one.
Wayne is just holding on here. Aussi manages to take his back.

Aussi has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Wayne has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Denis Aussi showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Wayne is looking to clinch.
Aussi swats away the attempt to clinch by Wayne.
Aussi stuffs the takedown.
Wayne ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Aussi moves away.
Wayne tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Aussi counters with a two punch combo.
Wayne throws a nice looking combination but Aussi bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Wayne moves out of range of the leg kick from Aussi.

Aussi forces Wayne back against the cage and clinches.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Aussi's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Aussi closes the distance and pushes Wayne back into the cage.
Aussi has Wayne pressed against the cage.
Wayne drops down looking for an ankle pick but Aussi pulls his leg out and moves away.
Wayne tries to clinch there but Aussi circles away.
No luck for Wayne with that takedown attempt.

Aussi shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Wayne as he avoids it easily.
Wayne is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Wayne's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Aussi connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Wayne scrambles back to his feet.
Rudy Wayne is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Aussi swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Aussi ducks under a wild hook from Wayne.
Wayne misses with a wild combination.

Aussi gets a clinch.
Wayne changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Aussi fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Wayne shoots in but Aussi avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Wayne fails with the takedown.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Aussi will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Wayne misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Aussi looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wayne is fending him off so far but Aussi persists. Nope, Wayne circles away and we're back to standing.
Wayne changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Aussi tries to avoid it but Wayne manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Aussi to the ground. Aussi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Aussi.
Aussi avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Aussi thuds a left hand into Wayne's body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Aussi shoots in looking for a takedown. Wayne tries to sprawl out of it but Aussi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Wayne manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Aussi rushes Wayne and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Aussi manages to pull guard.
Aussi seems keen to control Wayne's posture.
Aussi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Wayne is one step ahead there.
Aussi controls Wayne momentarily but Wayne frees himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Denis Aussi comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Aussi has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
