Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jared Curtis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ryo Ishizaki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ishizaki has chosen Captain Tsubasa as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jared Curtis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryo Ishizaki!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Shigeki Fujiwara and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curtis looks to land a right hand but Ishizaki moved out of range.
Curtis looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
Ishizaki fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Ishizaki takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Jared Curtis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ishizaki has Curtis pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Ishizaki pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Curtis tumbling to the mat - Ishizaki dives into Curtis's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Ishizaki is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Curtis can't keep his opponent in guard - Ishizaki advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Ishizaki lands strikes from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ishizaki is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Curtis doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Ishizaki.
Ishizaki is taking a breather. Curtis says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Let's hope that Ishizaki has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Curtis misses with a looping right.

Ishizaki fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Curtis sprawls well initially but Ishizaki persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ishizaki is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Ishizaki content to control rather than advance.

Ishizaki is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Ishizaki slows the pace down in half guard.

Curtis misses with a takedown attempt

and Ishizaki counters with a takedown into side control.
Ishizaki creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

Ishizaki thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Ishizaki is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Curtis has escaped the position, nice work there.
Ishizaki in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Ishizaki advances nicely into full mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ishizaki quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for Ishizaki but it's paid off an Curtis is forced to tap! Nice work by Ishizaki.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ryo Ishizaki!
Ryo Ishizaki really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Skin-Clothes Designing logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
