Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Max House (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Gardner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gardner has chosen Stavesacre - Minuteman as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max House!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Aaron Gardner!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Anthony Taglia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
House ducks under a wild hook from Gardner.
House shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Gardner pinned against the cage. Gardner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Gardner misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from House.
House dodges the punch combination from Gardner.
Max House seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
House looks for a takedown but Gardner sprawls well.
Danga de danga de dang - Gardner scores with a four punch combination!
Gardner stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
House shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Gardner as he avoids it easily.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Max House. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Gardner throws a nice looking combination but House bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Gardner looks to throw the jab but House is out of range.
Gardner misses with a few strikes there.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

House working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
House will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Gardner is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

House is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Gardner is surviving well by controlling House's body position as best he can.
Gardner is trying desperately to improve position.

House is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Gardner has managed to escape the submission attempt.
House throws some wild stikes that Gardner manages to avoid easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Gardner is in all sorts of trouble here.

House has control of Gardner's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Gardner regains control of the situation pretty easily.

House is working for a guillotine from mount but Gardner frees his head quite easily.

House looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.
House looking to finish Gardner with some ground and pound. This is bad for Gardner!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
House thowing shots but they're missing.
Gardner bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gardner sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed House's guard.
House has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Gardner works his way into side control.
House is not content to let Gardner control the position.
Gardner landing a few strikes.

Gardner is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, House has escaped the position, nice work there.
Gardner trying to control the action but House is working from the bottom.
House manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Gardner is figuring out what he wants to do next.

House on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Gardner is keen to just control but House is a slippery customer.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gardner slips a nice elbow through House's hands, connecting with House's forehead.

House is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Gardner's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Gardner's back!

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

No luck with that takedown attempt from House.

Gardner feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

House is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gardner is aware though and is defending well.

It looks like Aaron Gardner has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gardner is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
House fails to advance to Gardner's back.

House jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Gardner is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Gardner and House has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

House looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
House thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Gardner's head.

House is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

House seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gardner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

That was a close second round but I would say that Max House will probably get the nod.

House is looking for a sweep. Gardner is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Gardner throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
House taking some punishment here, with Gardner in his half guard.
Gardner wants to pass the guard but House is defending well.
Gardner not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

House looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Gardner wants to lay and pray for a moment but House keeps working.
House is pressing down on Gardner's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
House is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
House is thwarting Gardner's attempts to control the position.

Gardner has his hands on House's head, controlling the position.
Let's hope that Gardner has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well Gardner has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
