Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between M J Shain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gary Drennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shain comes to the cage accompanied by Thunderstruck. Drennan has chosen Illy-oi! as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
17 - 11 - 1, fighting out of New York, M J Shain!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

8 - 2 - 2, fighting out of New York, Gary Drennan!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Russell Pearce and Lou da Vinci.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Drennan was well out of range. Poor timing from Shain.
Shain lands a head shot.
Drennan keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A jab lands there for Shain.
Shain darts in trying to clinch
and Drennan counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Drennan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Shain with a hook.
Shain looks to land a left hand but Drennan moved out of range nicely.
Drennan swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Shain tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Drennan was well out of range. Poor timing from Shain.
Shain fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Shain throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Drennan counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Shain thinking.
Drennan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shain has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Drennan gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Shain has a takedown stuffed.
Drennan scores with a jab to the head.
Drennan uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Shain.
Shain throws a looping overhand right but Drennan ducks down to avoid it.
Shain throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Drennan lands a nice leg kick that just misses Shain's sensitive parts.
Shain is trying hard to land a takedown here. Drennan sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for M J Shain. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Drennan is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Drennan fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Shain is out of range.
M J Shain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Drennan punishes Shain's body with a nice straight punch.
Shain ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Drennan throws a chopping leg kick but Shain manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Drennan bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Shain thows a left - swing and a miss!
Shain misses the shot to the body.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shain tries to close the distance and clinch but Drennan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shain moves out of range of the body kick.
Shain swings away with a body shot that misses
and Drennan counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Drennan moves out of range of the body kick from Shain.
Gary Drennan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Drennan takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Shain throws a lazy right hand but Drennan sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Shain shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Drennan sprawls well. Drennan wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Shain gets slowly back to his feet.
Shain is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Drennan.
Shain fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Drennan manages to avoid it.
Shain lands a jab.
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Drennan wants to land a leg kick but Shain is out of range.
Drennan scores with a punch to the head.
Shain bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Shain misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
You can see the frustration on Drennan's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Shain misses with the ground and pound.
Drennan gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.

Shain throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Shain is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Drennan!
Shain lands a nice shot to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Drennan is rocked!
Shain connects with a bit shot that sees Drennan covering up! More strikes from Shain and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Shain is our winner by TKO!
