PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Baldomir Zsofka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Peter Comradi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Comradi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I fight to survive. I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Peter Comradi was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Baldomir Zsofka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Peter Comradi!
The judges for this bout are Aleksandr Martynov, Viktor Lagutenko and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Zsofka moves into the clinch successfully.

Comradi throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Zsofka blocks it with crossed arms.

Zsofka has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Comradi regains guard immediately.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Zsofka trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Zsofka seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Zsofka passes Comradi's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Zsofka is trying to work for a kimura but Comradi is defending well.

Comradi is refusing to be controlled, as Zsofka sits in half guard.
Zsofka is thwarting Comradi's attempts to control the position.

Zsofka is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Comradi can do anything to dispel that myth.
Comradi tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Zsofka wants to control the pace but Comradi is squirming around nicely.
Zsofka lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.

Zsofka has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Zsofka is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Comradi can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Baldomir Zsofka really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that M/S Paint Fightwear logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
