Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joe Davola (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Rua (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rua has chosen West Bound And Down as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Joe Davola!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Rua!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Davola throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rua.
Davola lands with a cross.
Rua throws a nice looking combination but Davola bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Rua.
Davola fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Rua is out of range.
No joy there for Rua, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rua clobbers Davola with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Davola walks forward, straight into a front kick from Rua.
Davola thuds his right hand into Rua's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Good leg kick by Davola there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Davola tries to land a leg kick but Rua saw it coming and moves away.
Rua ducks under a wild hook from Davola.
Davola fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Rua looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Davola throws a head kick but Rua moves out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Davola throws a jab when Rua was well out of range.
Rua keeps Davola at a distance using the push kick.
Rua throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Davola.
Rua pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Davola back to the cage. Rua follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

Davola closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Davola tries a body shot but Rua blocks it.
A head punch on the inside from Davola fails to land.
Rua wants to stall.
Rua wants to break free but Davola has control.
Davola swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Rua is trying to maintain a safe position but Davola gets an underhook and turns Rua into the cage.

Davola breaks the clinch.
Davola lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Good exchange - Davola coming out on top.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Rua misses with an attempted mid kick.
Rua on the wrong end of a nice jab.
A head kick misses from Davola.
Rua throws a push kick but Davola slaps the foot to one side.
Rua on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
Rua throws the kick towards the body but Davola avoids it.
Rua stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Davola.
Rua rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Davola moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Davola pulls out of a head kick attempt.
That kick from Davola tenderised Rua's leg. Rua is trying to keep his angry face on.
Davola cracks the inside of Rua's front leg.
Davola misses the body punch
and Rua counters with a three punch combo that has Davola backing up. Davola nods at Rua to acknowledge the strikes.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Davola just misses with a punch to the body.
Rua with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Davola to score with a decent uppercut.
Davola swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Davola falls off balance throwing a combination
and Rua counters with a body kick.
Davola throws a hook but Rua blocks it.
Davola cracks Rua with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Rua takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.

Rua is rocked!
Davola drops Rua with a straight right hand, right on the button! Davola follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Davola!
A very excited looking Joe Davola made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.
