The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Summers stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

St Pierre gets caught flat footed, as Summers shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Summers thows a big elbow that misses.
St Pierre tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Summers throws and elbow that misses. St Pierre uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Summers's guard. Nice move by St Pierre!
Summers wants to stand and escape but St Pierre is having none of it.
St Pierre looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
St Pierre wanted to stand there but Summers had control of the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

St Pierre takes a little break here. Summers wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
St Pierre looks up at the clock and then as Summers takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, St Pierre smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

St Pierre thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Well St Pierre has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
