Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Patricio Freire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Dutra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freire comes into the arena with Havoc blaring out of the sound system. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freire takes a swing at Dutra's ribcage but misses.
Freire moves away from the strike by Dutra.
Freire throws a body punch but Dutra moves out of range.
Dutra thows a left - swing and a miss!
Dutra swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Freire.
Dutra misses with an uppercut. Freire saw that one coming.
Dutra missing with a left hand there. Freire was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
The fighters circling - Dutra throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Dutra throws a punch but it's blocked by Freire.

Dutra is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Freire is keeping busy.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Freire keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Dutra's efforts to push away.

Freire is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Freire is on top in guard.

Freire takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Freire takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Freire is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dutra is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Freire jumps into side control!

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Dutra can do anything to dispel that myth.

Freire is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Dutra knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Dutra wants to control but Freire postures up.

and Freire makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Dutra moves forwards but Freire connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Dutra throws a shot from downtown. Freire moves away and avoids it.

Freire connects with a body shot that sends Dutra's belly button to the back.

Freire fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dutra manages to avoid it.

Freire loads up on a big right hand but Dutra slips the punch.

and Freire counters with a left to the body.

Freire throws a low kick, looking for Dutra's leg but Dutra calmly moves out of range.

Freire ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dutra wants to clinch up but Freire keeps it at a distance.
Freire misses with a wild body shot.
Freire lands with an uppercut that bounces Dutra off the cage and back into range.
Freire connects with a right hand. Dutra shakes it off.

Freire closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dutra quickly recovers to half guard.

Dutra is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Freire lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Dutra is still in real trouble! Can Freire finish him?
Freire winds up and cracks Dutra with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Freire maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Dutra could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Freire has cracked it and Dutra is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Freire!
