Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bobby Blimm (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Skjelbred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Skjelbred has chosen Bad To The Bone as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bobby Blimm!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, John Skjelbred!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Edson Gomes and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Skjelbred throws a head kick that half lands.
Skjelbred tries to clinch but Blimm moves out of range.
Blimm throws a quick inside leg kick.
Skjelbred tries to close the distance and clinch but Blimm swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Skjelbred wants to clinch.
Blimm wants to clinch.
Blimm shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Skjelbred defends it nicely.
Skjelbred throws a head kick that misses.
A solid leg kick lands there for Blimm.
Blimm wants to clinch
and Skjelbred counters with a straight right hand.
Skjelbred is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Skjelbred closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Skjelbred lands in his opponent's guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Skjelbred stopping the sweep attempt from Blimm.
Blimm controlling Skjelbred's posture.
Blimm working a defensive guard but Skjelbred manages to pass into side control anyway.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Blimm is trying to improve his position.
Skjelbred working away.
Blimm throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Skjelbred landing a few strikes.
Blimm is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Skjelbred off and has taken his back!
Skjelbred holding both Blimm 's hands and preventing any damage.

Blimm patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?

Blimm has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Blimm looking for the choke but no joy.
Skjelbred tries to break free.
Skjelbred rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.

Blimm trying to control from half guard but Skjelbred is working away.

Blimm is working for a submission of some sort.

Blimm seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Skjelbred is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:39 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Bobby Blimm!
Bobby Blimm gave a mention to Hellbent in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
