The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahmed takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Fernandes has managed to clinch.
Ahmed prevents Fernandes from breaking the clinch.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fernandes tries to lock up and control but Ahmed gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

That was a close round but I would say that Mohamed Ahmed will probably get the nod.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fernandes is trying to reverse the position but instead Ahmed has taken his back - oops!

Ahmed has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Fernandes! Can he survive? No! He's out! Ahmed gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
