The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hamilt shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jakhotia as he avoids it easily.

Hamilt shoots for a double leg takedown but Jakhotia sprawls well. He's pushed Hamilt 's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hamilt closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jakhotia circles away.

Jakhotia rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Hamilt moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Jakhotia looks to land a right hand but Hamilt moved out of range.

Hamilt changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jakhotia tries to avoid it but Hamilt manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jakhotia to the ground. Jakhotia escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Hamilt is breathing heavily.

Jakhotia is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Jakhotia pulls Hamilt in close to his closed guard and prevents Hamilt from doing any damage or advancing position.

Hamilt decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Hamilt closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Hamilt shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jakhotia as he jumps to the side.

That was a close round but I would say that Matt Hamilt will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
