Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between The Jackel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashley Williams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ashley Williams will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ashley Williams!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jackel.
An inside leg kick lands from Williams.
Jackel shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Williams but Williams pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nice takedown defense from Williams. No joy for Jackel on that attempt.

Jackel avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Williams lands a leg kick that knocks Jackel off balance momentarily.

Jackel throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Jackel shoots in looking for a takedown but Williams manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Jackel's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Williams moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

The Jackel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Williams displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Jackel.

Williams moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Jackel shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Williams manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jackel advances to half guard.
Jackel wants to take a breather but Williams is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jackel prevents Williams from standing back up.

Jackel is looking for a kimura here.

Jackel looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Jackel passes to side control.

Jackel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Jackel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Williams, who protects the arm well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Williams is holding Jackel down, trying to stall.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that The Jackel will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Jackel shoots in looking for a takedown. Williams tries to sprawl out of it but Jackel keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Williams manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Jackel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily.
Jackel changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Williams tries to avoid it but Jackel manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Williams to the ground. Williams escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for The Jackel. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Williams stuffs the takedown attempt from Jackel. Jackel gets slowly back to his feet.
Jackel fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Williams avoids it really well and circles away.
Jackel fails with a takedown attempt.
Williams wants to clinch up but Jackel keeps it at a distance.

Williams avoids the body shot from Jackel.
A slapping body kick lands there for Williams.
Jackel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily.
Jackel has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Williams.

A solid leg kick lands there for Williams.
Williams buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Good leg kick by Williams there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Williams dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Jackel. That did some damage!
Jackel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Williams as he avoids it easily.
Jackel misses with a hook. Williams ducked under it nicely.

Williams fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jackel, pushing him back against the cage.
Williams with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Williams is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Williams throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Jackel blocks it with crossed arms.
Williams with an attempt at a knee that misses.

Jackel has hold of one of Williams's legs. Williams is fighting the takedown attempt but Jackel gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Jackel throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Williams works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jackel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Williams's guard.
Jackel trying to mount his opponent but Williams defends it.
Williams pushes Jackel off looking to stand but Jackel dives back in and keeps control.
Jackel trying to pass the guard but Williams defending well.

Jackel is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Williams has managed to free his arm - good work.
Jackel moves into full mount! Williams won't be happy about that!
Jackel tries to control but Williams wriggling away.
Williams avoids a series of strikes thrown by Jackel.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Williams can do anything to dispel that myth.

Jackel working for a submission but Williams is keeping him at bay.

Jackel is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Williams is forced to tap! Great finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:22 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). The Jackel!
A less than humble The Jackel misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
