The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Manfred blocks the body kick.
Von De Vorde tries to clinch but Manfred is having none of it.
Manfred looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Still in half guard, Manfred seems content to control.
Manfred seems to be looking for submissions.
Von De Vorde tries to kick Manfred off but Manfred keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Manfred wants to work for an arm triangle but Von De Vorde is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Manfred is looking for a kimura but Von De Vorde is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Manfred to get the leverage.
Manfred passes to side control.
Von De Vorde striking from the bottom but nothing landed.
Manfred has hold of Von De Vorde's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Von De Vorde tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Manfred cranks the arm and Von De Vorde screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Von De Vorde, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
