The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pierra pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pierra stuffs the takedown.
Rueda has his takedown stuffed
and Pierra counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Rueda avoids the head kick by Pierra.
Pierra throws a leg kick but Rueda sees it coming and checks it nicely.
Pierra fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Pierra throws a good cross that connects.
Pierra misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pierra throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Pierra attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Pierra scores with a head kick.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pierra lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rueda circles away quickly and effectively.
Rueda doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Pierra counters with an inside leg kick.
Georgius St Pierra has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Fernando Rueda.
Rueda looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Rueda shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Pierra but Pierra pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Pierra throws a head kick that misses.
Pierra misses with a jab, cross combination.
Rueda fails with an attempt to clinch.
Pierra throws a right and a left that both miss.
Pierra misses with a two punch combination.
Pierra is breathing heavily.
Pierra moves out of range of the leg kick from Rueda.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Rueda.
Rueda fails to land with a series of punches.
Rueda misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Pierra cracks Rueda with a good jab.

Pierra lands a big head kick that sends Rueda tumbling to the mat! Pierra takes a step backwards and waves Rueda back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Rueda is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pierra sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Rueda's defenses. It connects perfectly with Rueda's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
