PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Thomas Nieminen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anders Jarryd (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Nieminen might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Scream, Aim, Fire!. Anders Jarryd has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jarryd avoids a punch combination nicely.
Nieminen looks to land a combination but Jarryd avoids it well.

Nieminen closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Jarryd wants the takedown. Nieminen is fighting it off but Jarryd persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nieminen's guard against the ropes.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Jarryd accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Nieminen had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jarryd is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Nieminen Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jarryd's back instead.
Nieminen is breathing heavily.
Nieminen is trying to stick to Jarryd's back but Jarryd is turning into Nieminen. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Nieminen's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Jarryd.

Jarryd is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Nieminen has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Nieminen!

Jarryd pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Well Jarryd has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
