Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Nicasio Salonga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Don Don (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Don throws a hook to the side of Salonga's head but Salonga sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Salonga blocks a jab.
Salonga uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Don.

Salonga drives through with a takedown into Don's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Don has momentary wrist control but Salonga slips an elbow through the middle.
Salonga controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Salonga loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Salonga sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Don's guard.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Salonga seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Don really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Salonga. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Still in half guard, Salonga seems content to control.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Salonga lands a nice short elbow.

Salonga is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Salonga is nestled in close to Don, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Salonga is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Salonga seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Don for as long as he can get away with.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Salonga working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Salonga connects with a nice short shot to Don's temple.

Don is rocked!
Salonga looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Don with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Don is still in real trouble! Can Salonga finish him?
Salonga is taking a breather. Don says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Salonga lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Don! More strikes land and this one is all over! Salonga jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
