Alvarez's entrance music is Knock a hatter out . A fine choice. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alvarez tries to clinch up.
Alvarez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Alvarez wants to clinch.
Alvarez throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Yamamoto.
Alvarez tries to close the distance and clinch up but Yamamoto swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Yamamoto stuffs the takedown attempt from Alvarez. Alvarez gets slowly back to his feet.
No joy there for Yamamoto, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Alvarez tries for a takedown but Yamamoto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Alvarez throws a sloppy head kick and Yamamoto moves out of range easily.
Yamamoto drops Alvarez with a right and a left! Yamamoto comes rushing in but Alvarez regains his composure and manages to keep Yamamoto in guard.

Yamamoto slips nicely into half guard.
Oh Alvarez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Yamamoto lands with a punch from half guard.

Yamamoto seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Alvarez seems to have got his legs back now.

Yamamoto stands up out of the half guard.
Alvarez walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Yamamoto throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

and Yamamoto makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Alvarez is breathing heavily.
Yamamoto lands with a jab that stuns his opponent. Alvarez is looking to close the distance but Yamamoto sees it coming and throws a beautiful knee! Alvarez crumbles to the mat and that's all she wrote! Let's hope Alvarez is OK because that was naaaaaasty!
