Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Henk Tank (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Court Meyers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Henk Tank!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Court Meyers!
The judges for this bout are Paul Gruel, Chris Saunders and Roger Salmon.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tank stuffs the takedown.
Meyers throws a head kick that misses.
Meyers stuffs the takedown.
Meyers shoots in looking for a takedown but Tank manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Meyers's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Nice sprawl there from Meyers as Tank shoots in.
Tank shoots and misses
and Tank takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Tank pushes Meyers up against the cage in a clinch.

Tank breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Meyers is trying hard to land a takedown here. Tank sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Tank tries to score a power double leg takedown but Meyers sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Tank somewhat.

Meyers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Tank blocks a head kick by Meyers.
Court Meyers seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Meyers is looking to clinch.
Tank keeps the fight on the outside.
Meyers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Meyers counters with a shoot takedown. Tank fights it but they end up in guard.

Tank trying to keep a closed guard but Meyers is proving a slippery customer.
Meyers is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Meyers gets to his feet - Tank follows without any prompting.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tank has closed the distance and engaged Meyers in a clinch.

Tank breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fight stays on the outside here - Meyers looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Tank shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
letting Meyers counter with a right hand.

Meyers throws a sloppy head kick and Tank moves out of range easily.
Tank throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Meyers fails with a takedown attempt.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Meyers!
Meyers shoots in looking for a takedown. Tank tries to sprawl out of it but Meyers keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tank manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Meyers tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Tank paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Tank scores with a kick to the midsection.

Meyers shoots in but no luck this time.
Meyers throws a series of punches but Tank avoids them all with ease.
Tank misses with a looping right.
Meyers fails with a takedown attempt.
Meyers throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Tank stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Tank closes this distance looking for a takedown but Meyers circles away.
Tank throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Meyers is defended easily by Tank.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Meyers stuffs the takedown attempt from Tank. Tank gets slowly back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Court Meyers dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Meyers will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Horrible takedown by Meyers or perhaps it was just good defense by Tank which made him look bad.

Meyers shoots in for a takedown but Tank shows good takedown defense.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Meyers.
Tank shoots for a double leg takedown but Meyers sprawls well. He's pushed Tank's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Meyers counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Meyers throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Tank closes the distance and clinches up with Meyers, looking for a takedown. Tank pushes Meyers against the cage but Meyers circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Tank shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Meyers as he jumps to the side.
Meyers moves in looking to clinch but Tank pushes him off.
Tank shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Meyers but Meyers pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Tank shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Meyers sprawls well. Meyers wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Tank gets slowly back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Meyers counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Meyers lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Meyers throwing strikes from guard but Tank blocks nicely.
Meyers trying to control but Tank is working from the bottom.
Meyers tries to free his leg and advance position but Tank is retaining full guard.

Meyers is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Court Meyers has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.

Meyers shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Tank's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Meyers wants to control from the top but Tank keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Court Meyers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Tank throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Meyers's waist but Meyers gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Tank off to one side.

Meyers wants to clinch
and Tank counters with a low kick, right behind Meyers 's knee.
Meyers wants to clinch up but Tank keeps it at a distance.

Nice takedown defense from Tank. No joy for Meyers on that attempt.
Meyers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Meyers fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tank avoids it really well and circles away.

Tank lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Meyers looks to land a combination. Tank sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Tank slips a straight right by Meyers.

Meyers stuffs the takedown attempt from Tank. Tank gets slowly back to his feet.

Meyers wanted to stand there but Tank had control of the position.
Tank keeping moving, preventing Meyers from controlling successfully.

Meyers takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Tank tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Meyers swivels and escapes.
Tank misses with a takedown attempt - Meyers sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Meyers shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Meyers wants to control from the top but Tank keeps moving.
Meyers wants to get up but he can't break Tank's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
